Mission
Lehigh Valley Girls Rock (LVGR) is dedicated to empowering cisgender girls and women,+ nonbinary and transgender folks through music and art.

BOD Scope
The purpose of LVGR’s Board of Directors (BOD) is to support our mission and uphold our values, maintain the integrity of the organization, and ensure its financial sustainability. Board members have a legal and ethical responsibility to ensure that the organization does the best work possible in pursuit of its goals and to act responsibly and prudently as its steward.
BOD Requirements, Expectations, & Responsibilities
It is required that board members…
• Understand and believe in LVGR’s mission and values
• Are committed to social justice and anti-oppression principles
• Have experience or an interest in community-based nonprofit organizations
It is expected that board members…
• Check their email at least once a week and reply to any form of communication within a timely manner
• Dedicate a minimum of 30 minutes each week to LVGR board work outside of scheduled meetings
• Complete assignments thoroughly and on time
• Join our online volunteer group in order to stay updated, participate, and offer help when needed
• Promote LVGR’s programs and events
Some general responsibilities include…
• Regularly attend board meetings
• Join at least one board committee
• Actively participate in fundraising efforts
