Get LOUD Camp 2024
This year is our eleventh annual youth rock camp, and we’re so excited to be entering our second decade! Our youth rock camp is Get LOUD Camp, where LOUD stands for Loving Our United Diversity. Camp is a week-long program for cisgender girls + nonbinary and transgender youth ages 10-17. Campers attend instrument lessons, form a band, collaboratively write an original song, participate in daily music and empowerment-related workshops, and perform with their band at a live showcase at the end of the week. No musical experience is necessary!
This year’s camp theme is “Dare to Dream!” We will explore how joy, hope, and collective optimism are revolutionary forces. In challenging times, setting intentions that help manifest the good we wish to see in the world is a way to care for ourselves and each other. Come dream with us!

Program Details:
Here’s a summary of what we provide during camp week!
Instrument Lessons - Campers sign up to learn bass, drums, guitar, or vocals and attend lessons in small groups. No musical experience is required and campers are grouped by experience level. We provide instruments for everyone.
Band Practice - Campers are placed into bands on the first day and work together to collaboratively write an original song throughout the week. Each band works with two dedicated mentors who provide guidance, encouragement, and technical support throughout the songwriting process.
Workshops - Campers attend workshops each day - a total of nine workshops throughout the week! Workshops are geared toward self-expression, social justice, and community and self-care. Camp also includes two art workshops - a logo design workshop and a screen printing workshop - where campers will design their own band merch!
Assembly Activities - Morning and afternoon assemblies include activities to reinforce the camp theme and opportunities for reflection on what we’ve learned throughout the week.
Lunchtime Performances - Lunchtime performances include invited guests to play for the campers and talk afterward about their experience as musicians and open mics where the campers get to show their talents! In order to expose campers to new types of music and different performance styles, we invite musicians from a variety of genres.
Showcase - On Saturday evening, each band performs its original song at a live showcase typically attended by about 200 friends, family, and adoring fans. Make up artists are available before the show for campers who are interested in glamming up for their performances.
